Build a Breath Practice You Can Carry With You for Life
If you’ve ever wanted to understand how to breathe with intention—and use your breath to support your body, mind, and nervous system—this course is designed for you. Join us at Native Yoga Center for a welcoming and practical introduction to pranayama.
This 4-day series will guide you step by step through foundational breathwork techniques rooted in the Ashtanga tradition. Each session builds progressively, helping you develop awareness, control, and confidence in your breathing practice.
Rather than feeling overwhelmed, you’ll learn how to approach pranayama in a simple, structured, and sustainable way.
What You’ll Learn
Over four mornings, you’ll be introduced to six essential pranayama techniques, including:
- Ujjayi breath and foundational ratios
- Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing)
- Bhastrika (bellows breath)
- Surya & Chandra Bhedana (solar & lunar breathing)
- Sitali (cooling breath)
- Intro to breath retention (kumbhaka) and bandhas
We’ll cover two techniques per day during the first three days, then bring everything together into a complete, guided pranayama routine on Thursday.
