ABOUT ARTIST

Manas Itene is a Nigerian-born drummer, singer, and songwriter whose dynamic musical career spans decades and continents. Beginning his musical journey at age six in Ughelli, Nigeria, Manas crafted a makeshift drum kit from household items, demonstrating an early passion and self-taught mastery of rhythm. By age 16, he joined The Mandators, a pioneering Nigerian reggae band, marking the start of his professional career.

Since 2000, Manas has been a prominent figure in the music scene, performing at legendary venues and festivals worldwide, including Glastonbury, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Bonnaroo. He has contributed to key albums, collaborating with iconic artists and bringing his unique sound to a global audience.

Beyond his performances, Manas has worked with music legends including Mickey Hart (Grateful Dead), Mickey Thomas (Jefferson Starship), Speech (Arrested Development), Babatunde Olatunji, Don Carlos, Pat Monahan (Train) and Peter Rowan. His second solo album, One Accord, blends reggae, pop, and world beats, carrying a message of beauty, unity, and hope in challenging times.

Manas continues to inspire through his performances, interactive drum circles, and mentorship programs, using music as a tool to unite, uplift, and nurture the next generation of musicians.
