We will do a three hour silent retreat based on periods of Tibetan Buddhist approach to Shamatha-Vipashyana meditation practice. Group instruction will be given at the beginning of each segment especially at the beginning of the retreat. Each segment will be 20-30 minutes in length with 10 minutes of walking meditation in between each sitting practice. Instruction will be based on integrating the subtle body.

The walking meditation is based on the practice Taught by Thich Nhat Hanh.
Participants are expected to arrive at least 10 minutes early before the start of the first instruction at noon. In addition, participants should bring their own chair or cushion to sit on for maximum comfort of maintaining a posture with the knees below the level of the plane of the hips. Some cushions will be provided.

A short question and answer period will be given at the end of the retreat.

What better way to start the new year by clearing the mind and sitting in silence!
