Class Description
An hour of classical Pilates Mat with emphasis on the influence of yoga in Joseph Pilates’s method. Learn how Pilates balances, aligns and improves athletic performance. The Pilates breath is intricately choreographed in each movement to empower and strengthen the abdomen.

Pilates Description
Pilates is a system of exercise that trains the abdominals to work inward, supporting the spine while giving the waist a long, lean appearance. Also working the “power house”-the inner thighs, hamstrings, and gluteus muscles, Pilates lengthens as it strengthens. This therapeutic movement was developed by physical therapist and athlete, Joseph H. Pilates, over a span of 60 years. Utilizing the equipment he designed, the method tones the muscles as well as balances muscular force at the joint level. By facilitating flexibility, joint range of motion and proper musculoskeletal alignment Pilates stimulates circulation.
It also promotes new neuromuscular patterns, heightened body awareness, and more precise coordination. The combined effects of Pilates help to prevent injuries and reduce or sometimes eliminate chronic pain altogether.
This invigorating and balancing workout will tone your muscles and leave you feeling relaxed and energized.
