This course will focus on relieving tension around the cranial base. It consists of parts of the temporal, sphenoid and occipital bones.  Called the spheno-basilar junction (SBJ), it was formed through a series of local and global movements prenatally.  Participants will learn those movements which inform how the hands make contact with it and produce a healthy effect on the brain and body.

The motions of flexion/extension, sidebending/rotation, shearing/lateral strain, and inferior/superior vertical strain are the adult motions associated with the SBJ.  We will learn how to use our hands more effectively for balancing these motions in the surrounding tissues of the cranium and body as a whole.  We will learn the four stages of human prenatal morphology influencing the SBJ and the eight metabolic fields of cell function that originally form the bones and membranes. This course is open to all craniosacral therapists and massage therapists wishing to go deeper in their understanding and palpation of the cranium and brain  for health and healing.
