Deep internal safety is coregulated by the older vagus nerve in the gut. Most of the world's population in Westernized countries now has Metabolic Syndrome and the resulting chronic diseases originating from the gut. Metabolic Syndrome dysregulates the systemic function of the cardiovascular system with proinflammatory conditions in the vascular endothelium. This is the primary comorbidity of Covid-19. We will learn the metabolic functions of the vagus nerve in the gut and its relationship to the sacral outflow of the parasympathetic nervous system in the pelvis. The vagus nerve connects with all the abdominal viscera via the cardiovascular system. We will learn specific techniques to address this integrated neurovascular circuit.
We explore new research on interoceptive awareness of the gut called visceroception as it relates to internal and external safety via the vagus nerve. All layers of the gastrointestinal system have innervation from the dorsal vagus, both its anterior and posterior branches. This is especially relevant in its relationship with the immune system lining the epithelium of the intestines. We learn to treat the symptoms of long covid. We will learn how the vagus communicates metabolic function to the brain and it returns anti-inflammatory responses to the body.
Two complete protocols will be taught using the gentle touch of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
