A led Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga class with Krista!

2:30pm - 4:30pm Air Time : Handstand + Forearm Balance + Headstand Variations $45
Learning handstand, forearm balance and headstand takes time and a bit of strength. Learn how to safely learn and grow inhandstands and forearm balances. Once you’ve warmed up and refined the basics, you’ll learn to transition more confidently and gracefully into a handstand, forearm balance, and headstand. You’llgo up with one leg, two legs and lay the foundation for “pressing” into these poses. If you’re stuck orscared of handstands and going upside down, Krista will help you build strength and confidence forthese postures with a step-by-step approach that you can do on your own at the wall! Just in case things get ugly, you’ll learn how to safely fall out of these poses without hurting yourself or impaling your neighbor. 2 hours.

Sunday, February 3rd
12pm-2pm Mysore Class $35
“Mysore style” is traditionally practiced silently, with individual instruction, and is named after Mysore, India, where Ashtanga yoga originated and was taught by Sri K Pattabhi Jois for many years. Anyone is welcome to come to this class. Students will work at their own pace, according to his or her individual needs, while Krista walks around the room providing
hands on adjustments and verbal instruction as needed. If you do not have the primary seriesmemorized, you will spend your first few weeks in class repeating bits of the standing sequence until it is committed to memory. Mysore style is the absolute best way to learn and practice Yoga. Itenables you to create a dedicated, daily practice that will take you infinitely deeper into the peace andcalm a quiet mind and strong body can provide.

2:30pm - 4:30pm Ashtanga Strength Elements  $45
From the gross to the suble, this is what Yoga is about. To do that we start with the physical body using asanas and movement to create a fit and strong body, which gives us the framework to cultivate a fit and strong mind. Ashtanga Yoga method is brilliant as it helps us cultivate physical strength while at the same time helping us evolve our mental and spiritual realm. The asanas themselves become more and more challenging as you work through the first and into the second and third seires’. This workshop is designed to assist practitioners on the physical plane focused on fundamental techniques that will aid in building strength and a solid physical foundation that will assist the student in their Ashtanga asana practice, and their overall spiritual journey. Spend the day with Krista learning how to cultivate strength and steadiness of body and mind by exploring
alignment, isolated strength building exercises, meditation techniques, positive thinking, affirmations,and much more! Suitable for all levels. 2 hours

Krista spends her days practicing and teaching traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. She travels to Mysore, India each year to spend several months studying at the Krishna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI).  Krista has made 6 trips to India and spent over 16 months studying under the guidance of her teachers Sharath Rangaswamy, Saraswati Rangaswamy, and the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, in order that her own practice and teachings may continue to grow on the right path under their tutelage.  Krista humbly gives thanks to Sharath for entrusting her to carry on the traditional teachings of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system as he has taught her.
